In Mark 5:21–43, Jairus desperately pleads with Jesus to save his dying daughter. But on the way, Jesus suddenly stops for a suffering woman who has reached through the crowd and touched His clothes. In the heat of the moment, it would have been easy for Jairus to lose faith and wonder, “Why are You stopping for this lowly woman when my daughter is dying?”
Yet this interruption was not a distraction from Jesus’ mission—it was part of it. As we continue through this three-part Gospel message, Mark reveals two beautiful truths: every person is important to Jesus, and His timing is perfect. Jesus saw the bleeding woman in her suffering, just as He saw Jairus in his desperation. Neither was forgotten.
Can we trust Jesus when His timing does not match our own? Can we grow in faith while continuing to see, value, and love the people around us—even when their needs interrupt our plans?
