Esther 10

Scripture

1 And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea. 2 And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the full account of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? 3 For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the good of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.

3 For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the good of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
observation
Mordecai was faithful to God in the mundane daily actions of raising Esther who would otherwise had a completely different life. God used the relationship He forged in Mordecai and Esther to rid the kingdom of evil against his people and plant life to grow for generations to come.

God has given us Spiritual Armor to go into battle, daily. When the battle is won - it isn’t over. While receiving honors and rewards for courage and service we guard our heart from pride and idols with our voice, “Thank you. To God be the Glory” … Truth is spoken over my flesh - ‘God is on the Throne of my heart’. Second acknowledges the thoughtful expressions of others. Acknowledges the Presence of God in a fallen world… people who don’t know God would otherwise miss out completely on the fullness of the blessing - “God is good all the time.”
prayer
Heavenly Father, You are worthy of all praise. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Without you, I can do nothing. Thank you for using me as a vessel to do what you want in this world. You give my life meaning and purpose. Thank you for abundant blessings pouring through the windows of heaven into my life. Thank you for overflowing goodness and love into people in difficult circumstances and crisis! Thank you for wisdom and discernment when rewards are used to manipulate and distract. LORD, thank you for storing up rewards for me in Heaven. That I get to lay my rewards at your feet. How I long for you. Come, Jesus, Come! Amen in Jesus’s Name

observation
Mordecai built a good reputation with others by following God's example of seeking the good of his people.

We're made in the image of God which I think in part means just as God values relationships with us, we're to value relationships with both Him and other people. Mordecai valued his niece and raised her as a daughter and valued his people and as a result was loved back.
